Ski amadé

Austria's largest interconnected ski area, linking four mountains above Schladming

Ski amadé is the largest single-pass ski area in Austria, linking 760 kilometres of marked runs across 25 ski resorts in Salzburg and Styria. Schladming is one of its principal centres, and a Ski amadé pass gives access not only to the four mountains directly above the town — Planai, Hochwurzen, Hauser Kaibling, and Reiteralm — but to resorts as far away as Filzmoos, Wagrain, and Flachau.

For the skier who wants variety, a week based in Schladming with a Ski amadé pass is almost inexhaustible. The area is suited primarily to intermediate skiers — the terrain is well-groomed and the runs are long, but there are few genuine black runs by the standards of places like Kitzbühel or St. Anton. The infrastructure is modern and efficient, the snow-making is nearly complete, and the lifts rarely queue for more than a few minutes.
