Schladming is on the main railway line between Salzburg and Graz, making it one of the better-connected ski resorts in Austria. Direct trains run from Salzburg (about 1 hour 40 minutes) and from Graz (about 1 hour 45 minutes). The train station is in the centre of town, within easy walking distance of the ski lifts.
By car from Salzburg, take the A10 Autobahn south and then the B320 Enns Valley road east; the drive takes about 1.5 hours. From Graz, the B320 runs the full length of the Enns Valley; allow about 2 hours.
The nearest airports are Salzburg (110 km, well-served from northern Europe) and Graz (175 km, with fewer international connections). For those coming from the UK or Germany, Salzburg is the standard arrival point.
