Qax's appeal is its quietness. There are no crowds, little tourist infrastructure, and a genuinely unhurried pace of life. The town itself has a few points of interest, but most of what draws visitors here lies outside: the old fortress village of Ilisu, the waterfall above it, and the walking country of the Greater Caucasus foothills. If you are based in Sheki and want a day in a smaller town, Qax makes an easy excursion. If you are specifically coming here, count on a slow day and a longer trip to Ilisu.
