The Chaussée de Wavre is Matongé's main artery, running from the Porte de Namur deep into Ixelles. Its first blocks are the heart of the African quarter — restaurants, fabric shops, bakeries, and bars elbow to elbow — and the focus of the lively Matongé festival each summer.
