This museum tells the story of Belgian resistance to German occupation during the Second World War. It is housed in the former Lauwers printing and photoengraving workshop, itself a resistance headquarters, so the setting does some of the work before you even get to the exhibits.
The collection covers underground newspapers, sabotage, intelligence networks, escape lines, weapons, uniforms, photographs, and personal documents. It is a serious, sometimes grim museum rather than a light stop between cafés, but it gives Brussels' wartime history a human scale.
