Plopsaland

Plopsaland is Belgium's largest theme park by visitor numbers, sitting just inland from the De Panne coast in the village of Adinkerke. Its rides range from gentle attractions suitable for young children through to The Ride to Happiness, a suspended spinning roller coaster that is one of the most intense rides in Europe.

The park is heavily themed around Flemish children's television characters, particularly the Studio 100 stable of shows, making it familiar territory for Belgian families. Rides are organised by thrill level across different themed zones. The water park section is a separate ticketed area.

Opening hours change seasonally — the park runs from Easter through to November with peak hours in July and August. Advance booking online is cheaper than at the gate. Allow a full day for families with children.

A story
Plopsaland opened on this site in 1935 as Meli Park, a garden and amusement park created by the Belgian beekeeping cooperative Meli. Its 87-year run made it one of the oldest theme parks in Europe before it was rebranded under the Plopsa name in 2000. The original bee-garden roots are long gone, but the park has hosted generations of Belgian children.
