Genk is a sprawling city that was built for car traffic; the main attractions (C-Mine in the center, Bokrijk and Kattevennen to the east) are several kilometers apart and not easily walkable between. That said, Genk has invested heavily in cycling infrastructure, and the Kempen cycling network makes a bicycle the best way to connect the city's attractions.
Cycling: The marked cycling routes through Genk connect C-Mine, the Sundial Park, Kattevennen forest, and Bokrijk via dedicated cycling paths. The Cycling Through Water path is part of this network. Bicycle rental is available at the train station and various points in the city.
Bus: The De Lijn network connects the city center with Bokrijk and other parts of the city. Services are adequate but infrequent on weekends — check schedules before relying on buses.
Car: Parking is easy throughout Genk. The city center around C-Mine has paid parking; Bokrijk has its own large free car park.
