Getting There

Genk is in the Belgian province of Limburg, about 90 km east of Brussels and 15 km east of Hasselt. There is a direct train service from Hasselt, which connects to Brussels in under an hour. From Liège the journey is about 45 minutes by train.

By car, Genk is easily reached from the E314 motorway (the Brussels-Hasselt-Liège route). Parking is available throughout the city.

The nearest major airport is Brussels Airport at Zaventem, about 90 km west. Liège Airport is closer (about 60 km) with international budget airline connections. From Brussels Airport, the train to Hasselt (then local connection to Genk) takes about 90 minutes. Many visitors to Genk combine it with a cycling trip through Belgian Limburg, which has an excellent cycling infrastructure.
