Hastière is in the Namur province of Wallonia, about 25 km south of Namur and 10 km north of the French border. By car it is a straightforward drive from Namur (about 30 minutes), or from Dinant (15 minutes to the north). The N936 road follows the Meuse through the valley and passes through all the villages of the commune.
By train, the nearest station is Dinant, served by direct trains from Namur (about 45 minutes) and Brussels (around 90 minutes with a change in Namur). From Dinant you can take a bus or taxi south toward Hastière; alternatively, the river road is a pleasant cycle or walk in summer. In good weather, a canoe or kayak trip down the Meuse from Dinant is a popular way to arrive — several kayak rental companies in Dinant run day trips to Hastière and back.
