Hastière's appeal is almost entirely natural and historical. The Meuse valley here is dramatic — limestone cliffs drop straight to the river, kayak routes wind past old abbeys, and the surrounding hills are laced with walking trails. The Château de Freyr, the Romanesque abbey church in Hastière itself, and the Rocks at Freyr for climbers are the main draws. Allow half a day if you are passing through, or a full weekend if you want to kayak and walk.
