Roeselare eats like a Flemish agricultural town — simply and well. The restaurants around the Grote Markt serve solid Flemish classics: stoofvlees (beef stew with beer), waterzooi, vol-au-vent, and mussels in season. The town is at the heart of Flanders' vegetable-growing region, and the local markets are full of excellent produce. For a beer after dinner, any cafe on the square will have Rodenbach on tap.
