Sea Garden

The Burgas Sea Garden (Morska Gradina) is a 150-acre coastal park stretching along the Black Sea shore, laid out in 1910 by the landscape designer Georgi Duhtev. It is one of the better-maintained public parks on the Bulgarian coast — more genuinely pleasant than its counterparts in the big resorts — with mature trees, a small open-air theatre, a children's railway, and direct access to the beach.

The park is the heart of Burgas social life in summer. In the evenings, especially on weekends, it fills with families, teenagers, and strolling couples in a way that feels less tourist-oriented than the resort zones further up the coast. The beach along its northern edge is reasonable, though the city beaches are generally not as good as those at Sozopol or Nessebar nearby.
