Festivals

Jersey Battle of Flowers (August). The most famous event in the Channel Islands calendar: a parade of floats decorated with flowers and natural materials through St Helier, followed by an evening Moonlight Parade with fireworks. It has been running since 1902 and draws large crowds. Held on the second Thursday in August.

Jersey International Air Display (September). One of the largest free air shows in Europe, held over St Aubin's Bay. Military and aerobatic displays draw significant crowds; viewing spots along the bay fill up early.

Tennerfest (October–November, Guernsey and Jersey). A month-long food festival in which restaurants across both islands offer fixed-price menus at discounted rates. A good reason to visit in autumn when accommodation prices have dropped.

Sark Folk Festival (September). Three days of live music on Sark, with a mix of folk, roots, and acoustic acts. The island's car-free setting gives it an atmosphere unlike any other music festival.

Guernsey North Show (August). An agricultural show held in the north of Guernsey featuring livestock judging, local produce, and fairground entertainment — a traditional island event that gives a flavour of rural Channel Islands life.

Liberation Day (9 May). Both Jersey and Guernsey celebrate the anniversary of their liberation from German occupation in 1945. It is a public holiday on both islands, with events, parades, and memorial services.
