Murter is connected to the mainland by a small bascule bridge at Tisno, which is the only way on or off the island by road. The bridge lifts daily at fixed times in summer (typically 09:00 and 17:00) to let larger boats through; if you arrive at one of those moments, settle in for a 30-minute wait.
The nearest airports are Split (90 km south) and Zadar (50 km north), both with budget connections from western Europe. From either, you reach Murter by car or by a combination of bus and local taxi. The closest mainland bus station is at Šibenik, about 30 km away, with frequent services to Tisno in season.
Sailors can berth at the ACI marinas at Jezera and at Hramina marina in Murter town, both well-equipped and busy in July and August.
