Cogito was the first serious specialty coffee roaster in Zagreb and remains the standard reference. The flagship branch is a small bright room near the funicular, with a counter, a few stools, and a small queue most mornings. Espresso, V60, AeroPress, batch brew — the staff are obsessive and well-trained.
There are several smaller branches across the centre, including one on Varšavska in the Lower Town. The bags of beans they sell, roasted in their own facility, have transformed home coffee for a generation of Zagreb residents. Closes early evening.
