Getting There

The easiest and most practical way to reach Karlovy Vary from Prague is by bus. Several companies operate frequent services from Florence Bus Station (Florenc) in Prague, with the journey taking about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic and the route. Student Agency (Regiojet) and Flixbus both serve the route; book ahead on busy weekends.

There is also a train from Prague, but it requires a change and takes considerably longer — around 3 hours. The train journey is pleasant but impractical compared to the bus.

By car from Prague, the D6/E48 route takes about 1.5 hours under normal conditions. The road passes through the Ore Mountains and offers good scenery in the final approach.

Karlovy Vary Airport (KLV) has limited international service, historically including flights from Moscow and a few other Eastern European cities. Schedules change frequently; check current options before planning an air arrival.
