Karlovy Vary was built for a specific purpose: taking the waters. The colonnades, bath houses, and spa promenades that line the Teplá River are the attraction, and you spend your time here walking between them with a spa cup, tasting thermal water at each spring, and observing the architecture. The surrounding spa woods add an easy half-day of walking above the town.
