Storm P. Museum

Museum dedicated to Denmark's best-loved humorist and cartoonist

The Storm P. Museum is a small museum dedicated to Robert Storm Petersen, the Danish cartoonist, author, and humorist who was one of the most beloved cultural figures in 20th-century Denmark. His gentle, absurdist humour — drawn in meticulous pen-and-ink style — had a quality similar to that of Edward Lear or Saul Steinberg, though he is little known outside Scandinavia.

The museum is in a former country house in Frederiksberg. It displays cartoons, paintings, and watercolours, as well as his enormous pipe collection and a reconstruction of his studio. It is a pleasant small museum, best suited to those with an interest in illustration and Scandinavian cultural history. Modest entry fee; closed Mondays.
