The Horsens Art Museum (Horsens Kunstmuseum) has an extensive collection of Danish art from the 19th century to the present, with a particular strength in works by regional Jutland artists. The permanent collection includes paintings by the Skagen painters and their contemporaries, as well as contemporary Danish art and international works.
The museum building itself is of interest — a converted 19th-century merchant house with more recent extensions. The collection is well displayed and the museum is rarely crowded, making it a calm alternative to the town's more heavily visited attractions.
