Hedeland is a large recreation area created from former gravel pits between Roskilde and the western suburbs of Copenhagen. It includes paths, lakes, a ski hill, miniature railway, steam railway, amphitheatre, and open green space.
The mix of family attractions and reclaimed landscape makes it useful for a half-day outdoors, especially with children.
