A small but unexpectedly thorough museum on Tallinna Street, telling the story of policing in Estonia from the tsarist days through the Soviet era to the modern Estonian Politsei. The Soviet rooms are the most interesting: uniforms, badges, propaganda, an interrogation desk and the kind of files that the police kept on every citizen.
You can sit in a cell, try on a uniform and (on guided tours) handle deactivated firearms. Pitched partly at children, but the post-1991 displays on the rebuilding of the Estonian police service are taken seriously and well captioned in English.
