Most visitors arrive in Tallinn by sea or air. Ferries connect the port with Helsinki (a two-hour crossing, dozens of sailings a day), Stockholm, and Saint Petersburg, and the passenger terminal is a ten-minute walk or a short tram ride from the Old Town. Tallinn Airport (TLL) sits just four kilometres from the centre and is served by most major European carriers, including a direct tram into town. Overland, international buses are faster and more comfortable than Estonia's thin rail network — Lux Express and Ecolines run regularly to Riga, Vilnius, and Saint Petersburg.
