Down by the harbour, the old village shop has been repurposed as a small museum and cafe — one of those dual-purpose spaces that small Faroese communities do well. The museum side covers the history of fishing in Hov, the traditional economy that shaped the village for generations, with old photographs, equipment, and artefacts from the working harbour.
Outside, flat stones where fish were once laid out to dry are still in place, a functional remnant of the pre-refrigeration era when the wind off the sea did the preservation. The cafe is a welcome stop after the walk up to the graves or the basalt formations.
