Next to the church, the small local museum covers the history of Porkeri as a fishing and farming village. It is the kind of museum that works precisely because of its scale — a few rooms, some old tools and photographs, and a sense of how hard life was in an isolated Faroese coastal village before the road tunnels arrived.
The museum is staffed by local volunteers and keeps limited opening hours, primarily in summer. Check locally or ask at the church before making it the sole purpose of a detour. Combined with the church, it justifies a stop of 30–45 minutes.
