Eggjarnar -- often called Skúvanes after the local name for the great skuas that nest here -- is the cliff edge south of Vágur. The land tilts gently up from the village to a flat clifftop, then ends abruptly in a near-vertical drop of about 140 metres straight into the sea. There is no fence and no warning sign; walk carefully.
The view takes in the entire south-west coast of Suðuroy, including Beinisvørð and Vágseiði in the distance. Pick a clear day -- in fog you can wander dangerously close to the edge without seeing it. The walk from Vágur takes about an hour each way across open moor.
