Kumlinge Åttan

Loop walking route linking the church, village history, rocky woods, and low island viewpoints.

Kumlinge Åttan is the island's useful walking route, a 12.5 km loop shaped around the church, village roads, rocky woods, and low lookout points. It is not wilderness, but it gives you the rhythm of the island better than driving from sight to sight.

The route is strongest in dry summer weather, when the rocks are safer underfoot and the ferry schedule leaves enough time. Information boards add context on local nature, the old mail road, and the 1808 fighting on Kumlinge.
