The M/S Estonia Memorial stands on the rocky shore near Pärnäs ferry terminal, reached by a short path from across the road by the harbour. It commemorates the victims of the ferry disaster of 28 September 1994, one of Europe's deadliest peacetime shipwrecks.
It is a quiet, somber stop rather than a long visit, but the setting gives the memorial weight, especially if you are travelling through the archipelago by ferry.
