Pori's main theatre occupies a solid neoclassical building near the old town hall, and has been staging Finnish and international drama since the late nineteenth century. The resident company performs in Finnish; programming runs from autumn through spring, with occasional summer productions.
If your Finnish is up to it — or if you catch one of the bilingual or musical productions — this is a good evening out. The building itself is worth a look from outside; it forms part of the ensemble of civic buildings around Hallitustori that gives Pori its sense of urban character.
