Plage de l'Impérial

Lakeside swimming complex with diving boards, beach volleyball, and the Belle Époque Impérial Palace as backdrop

The Impérial is Annecy's main paying beach, on the north shore beyond the Pâquier, named for the grand Belle Époque Impérial Palace hotel above it. The complex includes a long grass-and-pebble swimming beach, an Olympic outdoor pool, diving boards, beach volleyball courts, a snack bar and rental sunbeds.

The water is famously clean and gently shelved. Entry is paid in season (roughly mid-June to early September); the beach is one of the few in town with both lifeguards and proper changing rooms. Free swimming is available along the Pâquier shoreline next door if you'd rather not pay.
