Getting Around

Grenoble's centre is compact and flat, making walking the best way to see the old town. For longer distances, the city has an excellent tram and bus network run by TAG (Transports de l'Agglomération Grenobloise), with five tram lines and dozens of bus routes. Single tickets are cheap, and day passes are good value.

The Métrovélo bike-share system has stations across the city and is a popular way to get around — Grenoble is one of France's most cycle-friendly cities, with dedicated lanes on most main roads. For trips to ski resorts, the Transisère bus network connects to the surrounding valleys.
