Refuge du Folly sits above Samoëns in the Giffre massif and makes a good target for a longer day walk or a staging point for higher routes. The climb gives you a quick transition from village life to alpine pasture and limestone slopes.
As with any refuge walk, check opening dates and weather before setting out. The route is not technically exotic, but it gains real height and deserves proper shoes, water, and a willingness to turn around if storms build over the valley.
