Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte

Cooperative champagne maker, on the southern edge of town

Nicolas Feuillatte is the public face of the Centre Vinicole de Chouilly, a cooperative of more than 4,500 grower families across Champagne. It is the third-largest brand in the region and the most-sold champagne in France itself, even if it is less famous abroad than Moet or Veuve Clicquot.

The visitor centre, a few kilometres south of Epernay, is one of the most modern in Champagne. Tours include a film, a walk through the vast pressing and bottling halls, and a tasting; it is more industrial in feel than the heritage houses on the avenue but interesting if you want to see the cooperative scale of Champagne production.
