The Bouches de Bonifacio Nature Reserve protects the strait between Corsica and Sardinia, including limestone cliffs, reefs, islets, and clear water that shifts from turquoise to dark blue. For many visitors it is the best reason to see Bonifacio from the water.
Boat trips vary from short cliff circuits to longer runs toward the Lavezzi islands. Choose by sea conditions, not just by price; the strait can be rough, and a calm day makes the reserve feel much larger and wilder.
