Things to Do

Florac itself is small — you can walk it end to end in fifteen minutes — but it sits in the middle of some of France's wildest country. The town's own draws are the château, the spring at the Source du Pêcher, and the Saturday market. The real reason to come is what is around it: the Gorges du Tarn to the north, the Causse Méjean above, Mont Lozère to the east, and the empty schist valleys of the Cévennes Park to the south.
