Nîmes is well connected by TGV: about three hours from Paris Gare de Lyon, around forty minutes from Marseille, and ninety minutes from Lyon. The Nîmes-Pont-du-Gard TGV station is on the outskirts, with a shuttle bus into the centre, while the older Gare de Nîmes-Centre handles regional trains and is a fifteen-minute walk to the Arena. From the centre, frequent regional trains run to Montpellier (30 minutes), Avignon (30 minutes), and Arles (30 minutes).
Nîmes-Garons airport, ten kilometres south, has limited budget flights to a few UK and northern European destinations. Most international visitors arrive via Montpellier or Marseille airports, both an hour or so away.
By road, Nîmes sits on the A9 (Spain to Italy) and the A54 (towards Arles). Central parking is limited; use one of the underground car parks (Coupole, Halles) or a park-and-ride.
