Things to Do

Uzès rewards slow walking. The medieval centre is compact enough to cover on foot, but the lanes keep revealing things — a Renaissance doorway, a shaded courtyard, a fountain tucked into a corner. The Saturday market on the Place aux Herbes is the social heart of the week, worth timing a visit around if you can.

The Duché and the cathedral tower aside, the best thing to do in Uzès is simply wander without a plan. The town's Ville d'Art et d'Histoire designation reflects real architectural quality: you are never far from something worth stopping for.
