Laval's town hall, on the Place du 11-Novembre, was completed in 1830 in a sober neoclassical style. The interior staircase and council chamber are sometimes open during European Heritage Days in September, but most of the year it is best appreciated from outside — the square in front is one of the more handsome civic spaces in the centre.
