Nancy has a TGV station with fast trains from Paris-Est (about 90 minutes) and connections to Strasbourg (40 minutes) and Luxembourg (70 minutes). It is well connected to Metz (30 minutes) and serves as a useful base for a circuit of the Lorraine region.
By car, Nancy sits on the A31 motorway between Metz and Dijon, about three hours from Paris. The city is compact and the centre is partially pedestrianised, so most visitors park on the edge of the old town and walk. There are several large underground car parks near Place Stanislas. Nancy does not have a civilian airport worth using — Paris Charles de Gaulle and Luxembourg Airport are the nearest international hubs.
