Arras is well connected by rail. TGV services from Paris Gare du Nord take about 50 minutes. Trains from Lille take around 45 minutes. From London via Eurostar, you change at Lille-Europe for Arras, with a total journey of around two and a half hours. The train station is about ten minutes' walk from the Grand'Place.
By car, Arras sits on the A1 motorway between Paris and Lille. It is about 120 km from Paris and 55 km from Lille. Vimy Ridge is 10 km north on the D919, easily reached by car or taxi.
