The Saint-Valéry half of the bay's boat operation, sailing the Commandant Charcot III out into the estuary with commentary on the channels, the birds and the seal banks. Two circuits run: a forty-minute round trip out to Cap Hornu at about €15 for adults and €10 for children, and a longer hour-and-a-quarter run down to Le Hourdel at roughly €20 and €15.
As everywhere in this bay, the tide runs the timetable — the Somme estuary empties almost completely twice a day — so sailings shift daily and some days there are none. Tickets come from the red kiosk on the Quai Perrée, open 10am to noon and 2pm to 5pm on weekdays and from an hour before the first sailing at weekends. Book at least 48 hours ahead in season.
