The quieter alternative to the big commentated boats: a pinasse, the traditional flat-bottomed bay craft, rebuilt as a fully electric launch. It makes no engine noise at all, which matters more than it sounds — birds tolerate it at a distance the diesel boats can't manage, and you can hear the bay rather than the motor.
Cruises last about ninety minutes and leave from the marina on the Avenue du Général Leclerc. Groups are small, and the boat is also hired out privately for anything from a seminar to a wedding to, apparently, yoga. From around €32 a head, with gift vouchers from €39. The office on the Quai du Romerel works by appointment; book online or by phone.
