Plage de la Greve Blanche

A long sandy beach 800 metres west of the port, with views toward the Eckmuhl lighthouse at Penmarc'h.

The Greve Blanche is Guilvinec's main beach, a gentle crescent of fine sand stretching about a kilometre between the port and the rocky Pointe de Men Meur. It faces south, which means it catches the sun for most of the day and is sheltered from the prevailing northwesterly winds. The water is shallow and the gradient gradual, making it a good choice for families with young children.

At the western end the sand gives way to rocks and tidal pools, and the views open up toward the Eckmuhl lighthouse standing tall on the Pointe de Penmarc'h. The beach is shared between the communes of Guilvinec and Penmarc'h, and even in August it rarely feels overcrowded. You can walk here from the port in about ten minutes along the coastal path, or park at the small lot off Rue Jules Guesde.
