The Guilvinec market runs every Tuesday and Sunday morning from 9am to around 1pm, and it is one of the bigger markets in Pays Bigouden. In summer the stalls spread along Rue de la Marine in the centre of town; in winter things contract to Place de l'Eglise, but the quality stays the same. Fish and shellfish are the obvious draw, sold by fishermen's wives and local poissoniers who know exactly which boat landed what.
Beyond the seafood, you will find excellent Breton butter, farmhouse cheese, galettes, cider, and kouign-amann. There are usually a couple of clothing and household stalls too, but the food is the reason to come. If you are self-catering, this is where you buy your dinner. If you are not, come anyway for the atmosphere and a paper cone of fresh crevettes eaten standing up.
