Honfleur's drinking life is concentrated on the Vieux Bassin and the small streets immediately behind it. The harbour-front cafés are tourist-priced but pleasant for an apéritif as the light goes; for cheaper drinks and locals, head one or two streets inland. Cider, calvados, and pommeau — Norman apple-based drinks — are widely served, and a half-hour calvados tasting somewhere in town is highly recommended.
