Trouville's beach is a long, gently sloping crescent of pale sand, almost two kilometres from end to end. The tide goes out very far at low water, exposing a wide flat of sand and shallow pools ideal for children. At high tide the swimming is unspectacular but pleasant.
The wooden boardwalk — the planches — runs the length of the beach. Bathing huts, summer cabins, and a row of Belle Époque villas back it on the inland side.
