A former hostess bar that kept its lurid old sign and reinvented itself as a tiki temple, Dirty Dick is one of the bars that defined South Pigalle's transformation. Inside it is all bamboo, carved idols, and blowfish lamps, with a serious cocktail list of rum-heavy tiki classics served in flaming bowls and ceramic mugs.
It is small, loud, and packed at weekends, drawing a young, mixed crowd to the cluster of bars on and around the Rue Frochot. Come early for a seat, order something theatrical, and use it as a launch point for an evening in the quarter.
