The nearest airports are Marseille Provence (roughly 60km from Bonnieux) and Avignon (about 40km). Both are served by direct flights from major European cities. From Paris, the TGV to Avignon or Marseille takes 2.5–3 hours; from Avignon or Marseille, a hire car is necessary as there is no rail connection into the Luberon villages.
A car is not merely convenient in the Luberon — it's essential. The villages are separated by narrow roads through vineyards and lavender fields, and the distances between them are impossible to cover on foot or by public transport. Taxis and car rentals are available in Apt, which is the main town for the region.
