Sinsheim Altstadt

Sinsheim's small old town runs along the Hauptstraße between the railway station and the river Elsenz. The Stadtkirche on the hill above the centre dates to the nineteenth century but stands on the site of an eleventh-century monastery; the surrounding lanes have a few timber-framed houses and the usual Baden bakeries.

It is not a destination in itself — most museum visitors never see it — but an hour's wander before the train back is pleasant enough, especially if you climb to the Burgplatz for the view back over the Kraichgau.
