The Biergarten Schwaneninsel occupies a small park island in the Rems just outside the old town, reached by footbridge from Winnender Straße. Picnic-style benches under chestnut trees, the usual line-up of half-litre Maß glasses of local beer, big plates of Maultaschen (Swabian ravioli) and Wurstsalat.
Open daily when the weather is dry, evenings and weekends in particular. A pleasant, classically Swabian way to end a walk along the river or around the city wall. Address: Winnender Straße 4.
