The Cafe Tagblatt on the Marktplatz is the easy daytime stop. For evening drinks in fine weather, the Biergarten Schwaneninsel on the river is hard to beat. The Postplatz at the lower end of the old town has several wine bars serving Trollinger and Lemberger from the surrounding Remstal vineyards.
